KSE index gains 27.76 points KARACHI (October 10, 2009): The Karachi share market opened on a positive note on Friday and the KSE-100 index hit 9,925.30 points intra-day high on the back of strong interest of both local and foreign investors after approval of the Stock Exchanges Demutualisation Bill in the National Assembly.

BRIndex30 up by 34.06 points KARACHI (October 10, 2009): On Friday, BRIndex30 opened in the positive zone at 8,537.56 with an upward jump gap of 129.47 points. It closed at 8,442.15 with a net positive change of 34.06 points and percentage change of 0.41. It showed intra-day high of 8,577.62 and intra-day low of 8,407.47. The volume of BRIndex30 was 154,938,523, which was 64.65 percent of KSE All Share and 88.72 percent of KSE-100.

Stock exchanges' law to be placed before Senate soon ISLAMABAD (October 10, 2009): The Stock Exchanges Corporatisation, Demutualisation and Integration Law drafted by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has been approved by the National Assembly and is soon expected to be placed for promulgation before the Senate.

Foreigners invested $32.587 million in shares market KARACHI (October 10, 2009): The offshore investors' interest continued in stock market and they invested $32.587 million in foreign portfolio during the week ended on October 9, 2009. "The offshore investors' interest continued at the local share market due to available attractive levels and improving economical and political situation in the country", one analyst said.
